The Serra do Cipó Expedition is a 4-day adventure that crosses the Serra do Cipó National Park, revealing the charms of this unique region described by Burle Marx as the “Garden of Brazil”. The journey begins in Belo Horizonte, from where we will depart for Serra do Cipó, a region full of waterfalls, rocky fields, hills, and surprising valleys.
The Serra do Cipó National Park, established in 1987, protects 32,000 hectares of Cerrado and Atlantic Forest, offering rich biodiversity and breathtaking landscapes. Our expedition from north to south of the park will provide a complete immersion in one of Brazil’s most stunning natural areas.
Each day, we will explore different aspects of the mountain range, from the majestic Travessão to the refreshing waters of Crystal Waterfall. This expedition is perfect for those seeking adventure, a connection with nature, and an unforgettable experience in the heart of Minas Gerais.

14h00: Arrival and check-in at the guesthouse.
Afternoon and evening: Free time to explore the charming centre of Serra do Cipó.

09h00: Start of the hike at the Alto Palácio entrance.
17 km: Hike through the Travessão, with spectacular landscapes.
16h00: Arrival at Casa de Tábuas, camp setup, and dinner.

During the crossing, we will spend the night at two support points (shelters).
Overnight stays are in tents, and the shelters have a rustic support infrastructure.
Accommodation in Belo Horizonte is not included.
Includes transport from Belo Horizonte to the Serra do Cipó National Park and to the park's tourist attractions, and return to Belo Horizonte.
There are two meeting points: the Interstate Bus Station and Confins Airport.
The van will depart from the Bus Station at the agreed time, stopping at the Airport if any traveller wishes to join the group there.
At the end of the Expedition, the group will be dropped off at the airport and bus station.
Return flights should be booked from 7:00 PM onwards.

If the traveller is vegetarian or vegan, the protein will be adapted accordingly.

During the crossing, meals consist of basic options:
For breakfast: Bread, cheese, eggs, black coffee.
During the hike, there will be snack breaks, and upon arrival at the shelters, the meal will be served.
The traveller will have options such as rice, potatoes, pasta, meats, salad with tomatoes, cabbage, and other choices.
On the return day to Belo Horizonte, there will be a stop along the road for lunch.
