Petrópolis enjoys a tropical highland climate, offering pleasant temperatures year-round. In summer, averages range from 18°C to 26°C, providing a cool respite from the heat of neighbouring cities. Winter nights are chilly, with lows around 10°C, perfect for enjoying cosy inns. Rainfall is more frequent between November and March, rejuvenating the beauty of parks and waterfalls. The city is an ideal destination in any season.
Petrópolis is approximately 70 km from Rio de Janeiro and can be reached by car or bus via the BR-040 highway. European visitors can fly to Galeão International Airport (GIG) and then take private transfers or buses directly to the city. The route offers spectacular views of the Serra dos Órgãos.
