CODE OF CONDUCT

Discover Brasil is committed to selecting suppliers that meet high standards of quality, ethics, social responsibility, and environmental sustainability. Suppliers are expected to carry out their work in compliance with legal requirements and ethical practices while upholding human rights. This Code of Conduct outlines the criteria that all suppliers and their employees must adhere to when working with Discover Brasil.

SUPPLIERS

By adhering to this Code of Conduct, suppliers contribute to the success and sustainability of Discover Brasil’s mission to provide high-quality, ethical, and environmentally conscious tourism experiences.

1. CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE AND SATISFACTION
  • Provide a Safe and Enriching Experience: Suppliers must prioritize the safety, satisfaction, and overall enjoyment of customers, ensuring that all services delivered are of the highest quality.
  • Compliance with Security Regulations: All security measures, as outlined by the authorities, must be strictly followed to ensure a safe environment for both employees and clients.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Suppliers are expected to continuously seek to maximize customer satisfaction by providing a comprehensive and enriching travel experience.
  • Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: Suppliers must strive to reduce their consumption of water, paper, plastics, and other materials in their operations. Reuse and recycle materials whenever possible, such as paper, glass, plastics, toners, and batteries.
  • Eco-friendly Technologies: Promote and apply environmentally friendly technologies. Encourage the use of electronic vouchers over printed versions, integrating barcodes and QR codes to facilitate a digital, paperless process.
  • Safe and Pleasant Working Conditions: Suppliers must provide a work environment that is safe, respectful, and conducive to the well-being of their employees.
  • Non-Discrimination: Discrimination on the basis of gender, race, color, national or ethnic origin, age, marital status, sexual orientation, religion, political opinions, or any other personal, physical, or social condition will not be tolerated.
  • Harassment-Free Workplace: All forms of harassment—whether physical, psychological, moral, or sexual—are strictly prohibited.
  • Zero Tolerance for Exploitation: Suppliers must not engage in or collaborate with any party that practices forced or exploitative labor.
  • Support Local Economies: Suppliers should contribute to the development and improvement of local communities by creating jobs, promoting local production, and respecting indigenous and cultural heritage.
  • Authenticity of Culture: Respect and promote authentic cultural manifestations without imposing external cultural influences. Ensure that any indigenous tourism is conducted in collaboration with or led by local communities.
  • Cultural Education: Suppliers must educate tourists about local customs and behaviors through their guides to ensure respectful engagement with local cultures.
  • Minimize Impact: All activities must be conducted with minimal cultural and environmental impact. Suppliers should prioritize the use of low-emission or less polluting transportation options and manage tourism to alleviate any negative effects on the environment or local culture.
  • Respect for Animal Welfare: Suppliers involved in activities that involve animals must adhere to the Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare:
  1. Freedom from hunger and thirst.
  2. Freedom from discomfort.
  3. Freedom from pain, injury, or disease.
  4. Freedom to express normal behavior.
  5. Freedom from fear and distress.
  • Promotion of Sustainable Practices: Suppliers must promote sustainable and responsible practices among both clients and collaborators, in line with the Discover Brasil Manifesto.
  • Encourage Reuse: In activities requiring headphones, suppliers should encourage customers to use their own headphones to avoid single-use waste.
  • No Bribery or Extortion: Suppliers must not offer, request, or accept gifts of high value or engage in bribery, extortion, or any unethical practices that seek to influence decisions or obtain unjustified benefits.
  • Honesty in Documentation: Suppliers are expected to maintain the highest level of integrity in all business dealings. Falsification of documents is strictly prohibited.
  • Symbolic Gifts: Only symbolic gifts or legally regulated donations of minimal value are permitted, provided they do not influence decision-making processes.
