About this activity

Experience a unique immersion in the Haliti-Paresi Indigenous culture, in the heart of Mato Grosso. This expedition offers a rare opportunity to get up close to the traditions, rituals, and way of life of one of Brazil’s oldest native peoples.

The journey begins in Tangará da Serra, where participants are welcomed by members of the Haliti-Paresi community. During the stay, you can take part in cultural activities such as traditional dances, craft workshops, and tastings of typical local dishes. Visitors will also learn about the importance of the Paresi language, part of the Arawakan family, and the community’s efforts to preserve it.

The expedition includes guided walks through the forest, where local guides share their knowledge of medicinal plants and the deep spiritual connection the Haliti-Paresi maintain with nature. This is a truly enriching experience that offers profound insight into Indigenous worldviews and the significance of cultural and environmental preservation.
